Say it with a Rhyme
by Christine Hodge
Rhyming teaches children how language works. It helps them to hear different sounds within words and shows the rhythm of language. This helps children learn to read and write! For your infant or toddler recite nursery rhymes and finger plays with movements to them. For a preschooler or even early reader, practice rhyming skills. Play rhyming games and make up silly songs, or try to rhyme people’s names. More fun ideas!
