Early Literacy: Building strong brains and bright futures, one word at a time.

Big Growth Starts with Little Words

Our early literacy initiatives support families in all the places learning happens—at home, out in the community, and everywhere in between. Whether you’re looking for ideas, encouragement, or books to build your home library, we’re here to help you raise a confident, curious reader.

Our Initiatives-

Sing. Say. Point. Play.

Everyday Skills

These four simple actions help babies learn to talk and young children learn to read. We work with families and caregivers to build these habits into everyday routines—turning small moments into big opportunities for learning.

Literacy Ambassadors

Community Outreach

Community volunteers help foster literacy skills in their communities by creating welcoming reading corners in waiting rooms and sharing free resources with families. Our Literacy Ambassadors help surround children with stories, language, and encouragement—making early learning part of everyday life, wherever families go.

Book Distribution

Access to Books

We provide books to trusted community partners—like libraries, home visiting programs, and family centers—so children can access age-appropriate stories wherever they are. These books help spark imagination, support language development, and ensure that every child has the chance to build early literacy skills from the start.

Birth to Three Essentials

Early Growth

From birth to age three, children begin learning about language and communication long before they can read. By playing, babbling, listening to stories, and spending time with you, they’re building the early brain connections that make reading possible. These everyday moments matter—they’re the foundation for future learning and lifelong literacy.

From day one, children are wired to learn—and their earliest experiences shape how they grow, think, and connect with the world. Early literacy isn’t about flashcards or formal lessons—it’s about everyday moments with parents and caregivers that build language, spark curiosity, and lay the foundation for lifelong learning.

Families receive free books and easy tools to support learning at home, thanks to partnerships with doctors, libraries, and community groups. It’s about making reading part of everyday life.

Reading, talking, and playing together helps parents and children connect in meaningful ways. These small moments build trust and confidence while supporting emotional growth in the earliest years.

Kids who are introduced to books and language early develop the skills they need to succeed in school. Early literacy supports focus, vocabulary, and social-emotional development.

From day one, simple moments like singing, pointing, and chatting build the brain connections that power learning. These early experiences lay the foundation for reading and lifelong learning.
