Children learn best in a safe, orderly, and healthy environment, and we are committed to creating predictable routines that help them feel secure and confident. Our plans are thoughtfully developed based on each child’s interests and developmental level, and we carefully arrange the classroom to encourage active exploration while supporting children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.
We recognize that families are children’s first and most influential teachers. For this reason, we actively invite family participation in every aspect of our programming. Families are always welcome to visit classrooms, participate in activities, share their customs and traditions, assess our program, provide input on policies, and engage in their child’s learning both at home and in the classroom.
It is our responsibility to prepare children for success in school and in life. We implement the Creative Curriculum and use Teaching Strategies Gold as our child assessment tool. Both are aligned with Kindergarten Common Core Standards and, when implemented with fidelity, effectively support children’s readiness and long-term success.
We believe that one of life’s greatest strengths—and a true gift to children—is the ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts respectfully. We view conflict and frustration as valuable teaching opportunities and guide children as they develop the skills necessary to navigate challenges with confidence and care.
We value lifelong learning and provide meaningful opportunities for parents and staff to learn together. Through continuous professional development and a shared commitment to growth, we take great joy in learning alongside our children. The children, families, and community of Hazel Park and the surrounding counties deserve the very best early childhood program we can offer. We welcome staff, families, and community stakeholders to join us in ongoing program assessment and planning as we strive for excellence.
